Polycarbonate Safety Glasses Manufacturing

We produce injection moulded safety glasses in optical-grade polycarbonate meeting EN 166 (personal eye protection) and ANSI Z87.1 certification requirements. Each lens is moulded to optical class 1 quality with anti-scratch hard coating applied inline.

Optical Quality

Achieving optical class 1 (continuous use) in injection-moulded PC requires extreme process control. Our moulds feature optically polished cavities (SPI A1), hot runners with precision thermal control, and low-stress injection profiles. Every lens is inspected for prismatic deviation, haze, and inclusion defects.

Coatings & Treatments

Anti-scratch hard coat (pencil hardness 3H), anti-fog treatment (permanent hydrophilic coating), UV400 filtering (blocks 99.9% of UV), and optional blue-light filtering for screen workers. Coatings are applied in our cleanroom coating line immediately after moulding.

Frame Design

Frames are moulded in impact-modified PA or TR90 (nylon-based memory plastic) for flex and comfort. Temple tips and nose bridges are overmoulded in TPE for non-slip grip. The complete glasses assembly (lenses + frame) is tested per EN 166 enhanced protection requirements.

Certification

EN 166:2001 (personal eye protection), ANSI Z87.1, AS/NZS 1337, CE marked. Ballistic-rated models available per MIL-PRF-31013. Medical variants meet EN 13795 splash resistance requirements.

Applications

Medical (surgery, laboratory, dental), industrial (manufacturing, construction, chemical handling), military (ballistic protection), and sport (cycling, skiing, water sports).

Frequently Asked Questions

Can prescription lenses be produced?

We produce plano (non-corrective) safety lenses. Prescription inserts are available as clip-in frames compatible with our safety glass models.

What anti-fog options are available?

Permanent hydrophilic coating (lasts product lifetime), anti-fog spray-treated (re-applicable), and ventilated frame designs for maximum airflow. The permanent coating meets EN 166 N requirement.
