Plastic Injection for the Sanitary Sector
The sanitary sector demands plastic parts combining flawless aesthetics, chemical resistance to cleaning products, and compliance with drinking water contact standards (ACS, KTW). At Moulding Injection, we have become the Belgian reference for injected sanitary component production, from prototype to packaged finished product.
Our expertise covers the entire value chain: technical part injection, multi-component assembly, decorative finishes (chrome plating, metallisation), quality control, and retail-ready packaging. One partner, zero interfaces, reduced lead times.
Transparent Polycarbonate Shower Heads
Our flagship speciality: injection moulding of Makrolon polycarbonate shower heads. PC offers crystal-clear transparency (92% light transmission), impact resistance 250 times greater than glass, and thermal performance up to 130°C — ideal for high-temperature sanitary applications.
We master the specific challenges of transparent PC injection: material temperature control to ±2°C, mirror-polished moulds (SPI A1), valve-gated hot runner systems for zero visible vestige, and post-injection annealing. The result: optically perfect parts, batch after batch.
ABS Chrome Plating: The Premium Finish
For visible sanitary components — handles, rings, tap covers — we offer ABS injection followed by galvanic chrome plating. Platable ABS receives a multi-layer copper-nickel-chrome deposit producing a bright metal appearance indistinguishable from chromed brass, at 5x lower weight and cost.
Our chrome-plated parts meet salt spray testing (NSS) 48-96 hours and pass major brand corrosion and abrasion standards.
Technical Plastic Taps
We inject taps, valves, and fittings in POM (acetal) for low friction, PP for chemical resistance, and PSU/PPSU for high-temperature applications (up to 180°C). Seals are overmoulded in EPDM or LSR silicone.
Assembly & Finished Product Packaging
What sets us apart: we deliver finished products, not loose parts. Our assembly workshop integrates multi-component assembly, ultrasonic welding, 100% functional testing, and retail packaging (blister, individual box, display).
Certifications
ISO 9001:2015, ACS (France), KTW (Germany), NF EN 1112, NF EN 246, REACH, RoHS, EU Drinking Water Directive (DWD 2020/2184).
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between chrome plating and PVD metallisation?
Galvanic chrome plating offers superior resistance (abrasion, corrosion, heat) and a brighter appearance. PVD metallisation is more economical and allows more colours but is less wear-resistant. For taps, we recommend galvanic chrome. For decorative accessories, PVD suffices.
What is the lead time for a complete new sanitary product?
From design to packaged finished product: 10-12 weeks. Mould: 5-6 weeks. First samples: 7 weeks. Production + packaging: 10-12 weeks.
